Guy Hovis, a renowned singer, has passed away at the age of 86 after battling illness in a hospital. Known for his appearances on The Lawrence Welk Show, where he performed with his former wife Ralna English as the duo ‘Guy & Ralna,’ Hovis had a successful career that included 15 albums and a performance at President George W. Bush’s inauguration.

Hovis’ daughter, Julie, shared the news of his peaceful passing in Oxford, Mississippi. He had been hospitalized for an undisclosed illness in recent weeks, as revealed by Julie and Ralna English. The close relationship between Hovis and English, despite their separation, was evident as they continued to perform together on the program until its conclusion in 1982.

After his separation from English, Hovis remarried Sarah “Sis” Lundy, with whom he had three children and five grandchildren. His accomplishments in the music industry include nominations from the Gospel Music Association and a notable performance at George W. Bush’s inauguration.
