“Tesco Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Resource”

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, seeking extra guidance and support can be crucial. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies located across the UK and catering to over half a million customers weekly, is dedicated to providing assistance. Whether you need to pick up prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, or consult with their expert pharmacists while shopping, Tesco has you covered.

Balancing essential health check-ups with a busy schedule can be challenging for many individuals. Turning to online resources for solutions to health concerns when time is limited can often lead to more stress than relief. “To address this, we offer convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and wellness products in our stores so customers can access them easily during their shopping trips,” says Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and vaccines to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies act as a comprehensive resource for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to our stores can provide crucial reassurance or assistance to our customers,” notes Tom.

Additionally, pharmacists can expedite the treatment process by prescribing medications for common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For individuals dealing with long-term health conditions, Tesco Pharmacists offer specialized training from organizations like Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation. This training equips them to provide information, support, and awareness on cancer, heart diseases, circulatory conditions, and type 2 diabetes. Customers can easily approach pharmacists with Let’s Talk badges at the pharmacy counter for assistance.

“Our pharmacy teams are available for quick and friendly walk-in blood pressure checks for customers concerned about their heart health,” Tom mentions. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or early intervention if necessary.”

Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 free blood pressure tests for customers this year alone, highlighting the significant impact of this service. The benefits extend beyond customers, as Tesco employees can also access the convenience of pharmacy support and other health services.

“Colleagues can benefit from virtual GP appointments and additional resources on sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through our Employee Assistance Programme,” Tom elaborates.
