“600 Passengers Safe After Two Trains Collide with Vehicle in Poland”

Two trains carrying around 600 passengers collided with a vehicle stuck on railway tracks in a recent alarming rail incident. The incident occurred in Błonie, Poland, at the level crossing on Poniatowskiego Street on January 25.

According to reports from Polish media outlet PolsatNews, a Ford Focus experienced a breakdown at the crossing, and attempts by the driver to move the vehicle failed. An Intercity train traveling from Szczecin Główny to Rzeszów Główny hit the car, pushing it onto the opposite track. Subsequently, a second train collided with the vehicle, which was reportedly on fire by then.

Deputy Inspector Ewelina Gromek-Oćwieja of the Warsaw West District Police explained, “A Ford Focus stalled at a level crossing. The driver tried to clear it off the tracks but was unsuccessful, leading to the car being struck by an Intercity train from Szczecin Główny to Rzeszów Główny. The car was then hit by a second Intercity train on the other track.”

Fortunately, all 600 passengers have been safely evacuated from both trains, with no casualties reported at this time.
