“Masters Crack Down on AI Glasses Violating Phone Ban”

The Masters tournament organizers are taking action against the use of AI glasses that violate their no-phone and no-camera policy. The strict regulations led to the ejection of golfer Mark Calcavecchia for using his mobile phone on the premises.

These AI glasses, equipped with mini speakers, microphones, and cameras, enable wearers to communicate, listen to music, and take photos and videos discreetly. Detecting these advanced devices can be challenging for untrained individuals.

Recent reports indicate that Augusta National is prioritizing identifying these glasses during security briefings, training staff to spot hidden cameras within the eyewear. An incident involved a fan attempting to bring the glasses to the tournament, using them during a practice round before the gadget was confiscated and later returned.

According to sources, individuals caught with AI glasses during the final round risk immediate expulsion and a ban from future events. Officials are also monitoring online activity to prevent fans from sharing content captured with such devices.

Notably, former Open Championship winner Mark Calcavecchia faced expulsion from Augusta after being caught with his phone, emphasizing the tournament’s strict enforcement of electronic device bans once the competition begins.

Players have expressed support for the policy, emphasizing respect for tradition and integrity while navigating modern social media trends. The upcoming Masters coverage, starting on April 6, will be accessible through Sky’s Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering a comprehensive viewing experience for golf enthusiasts.
