A British traveler named Joshua Kershaw collapsed at a bar in Bangkok and received medical attention at a hospital before heading to the bustling nightlife area of the city, as per reports. The 21-year-old was sighted on CCTV enjoying a night out in the central nightlife zone of Bangkok shortly before he was discovered deceased in his hotel room on January 13. Initially presumed to be in Pattaya by his family based in Yorkshire, Joshua had actually checked into Maxim’s Inn hotel in Bangkok on the evening of January 12 with intentions to visit Pattaya, where his body was later found by hotel staff the following day, prompting a police response.
Authorities in Bangkok are currently awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of Joshua’s passing, according to the Thai Examiner. On the night of January 12, security footage captured Joshua at a bar near his hotel, where he was seen sitting with a woman, enjoying pizza and chicken before reportedly collapsing after falling from his seat and losing consciousness. Following this incident, he was transported to a hospital by ambulance due to concerns that he may have choked on his food. Despite receiving treatment at the hospital, Joshua discharged himself and was spotted back in Bangkok’s nightlife area until the early hours of the morning before returning to his hotel room carrying beverages. Unfortunately, he was discovered lifeless in his hotel room later that day. His family was notified of his demise nine days later on January 21.
Jenny, Joshua’s mother from Wakefield, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook. The family is now seeking to repatriate Joshua’s remains, with a GoFundMe campaign raising over £12,000 to support the cause. The Foreign Office has confirmed their support for Joshua’s family during this difficult time.
