An NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves was postponed following a fatal shooting by an ICE agent in downtown Minneapolis. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the game has been rescheduled for Sunday at 4.30pm local time due to the incident.
The NBA issued a statement explaining that the decision to postpone the game was made to ensure the safety of the Minneapolis community. The rescheduled game will take place on January 25 at 4.30pm CT at Target Center.
ESPN host Ernie Johnson announced the game’s postponement live on air, expressing concern over the tragic event. Former NBA player Charles Barkley also commented on the situation, emphasizing the need for responsible actions in such circumstances.
The shooting occurred near the Target Center, with the shooter’s identity yet to be disclosed. This is not the first time a game has been delayed due to shootings involving law enforcement officials.
In a separate development, Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering over 1,400 live matches including Premier League and EFL games. Sky plans to broadcast at least 215 live Premier League matches next season, a significant increase from previous seasons.
