The National Hockey League has reported the tragic passing of journalist Jessi Pierce and her three children in a residential fire in Minnesota over the weekend. A wave of tributes has flooded in for Pierce, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the NHL expressed their heartfelt condolences, stating, “The entire National Hockey League community extends its thoughts and deepest sympathies to the Pierce family following the loss of Jessi Pierce and her three young children. Jessi was a dedicated member of the NHL.com team for ten years and had a genuine love for our sport. She will be deeply missed.”
Authorities from the Fire Department confirmed their response to an emergency call in White Bear Lake just before 5:30 am on Saturday, where witnesses observed flames engulfing the residence. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered an adult and three children who had tragically perished. An investigation into the fire’s cause is currently underway.
The Minnesota Wild organization also expressed their sorrow over the devastating loss, stating, “The Minnesota Wild is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Jessi Pierce and her children. Jessi was a compassionate individual who cared deeply for her family and community. She was a dedicated advocate for hockey during her time covering the Wild and the NHL. Jessi and her children will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and condolences are with their loved ones and all who knew them.”
Kristen Krull, co-host of the Bardown Beauties podcast, paid tribute to Pierce, describing her as a supportive figure and a loving mother. Krull shared, “Jessi was like a big sister to me. Her confidence and ability to connect with people were admirable. She possessed an unparalleled work ethic and a generous heart. Whenever I needed assistance, a listening ear, or a friend, she was always there without hesitation. Above all, she was a devoted mother who cherished her family and children deeply.”
