“Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua Reach Agreement for Heavyweight Showdown”

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly reached an agreement to face off in an exciting heavyweight clash, with key details now disclosed. Earlier in December, news surfaced about the duo finally settling their long-standing feud in the boxing ring in 2026. However, shortly after securing a knockout victory over Jake Paul during the recent Christmas period, Joshua was involved in a tragic car accident in Nigeria, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of his close friends Sina Ghami and Lateef ‘Latz’ Ayodele.

Despite concerns that Joshua might not return to boxing following his near-death experience, the former two-time heavyweight champion is now back in light training, with talks circulating about a potential ring comeback this summer. There are discussions about Joshua potentially facing former rival Dillian Whyte before taking on Fury.

Renowned boxing journalist Gareth A Davies revealed that both Fury and Joshua have agreed to the fight. Davies mentioned on talkSPORT that the matchup is confirmed behind the scenes, stating, “The Fury-Joshua fight is signed.” He further emphasized that the event is agreed upon and will likely be broadcast on Netflix, with a possible timeframe for late this year or next year.

Netflix is set to air Fury’s return on April 11. Fury, who had previously announced retirement from boxing only to reverse it, is scheduled to fight the dangerous Russian knockout artist Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Netflix has been increasingly involved in boxing, showcasing prominent fights like Paul vs Joshua, Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano, and Paul vs Mike Tyson.

Joshua is nearing a full training return for a potential ring comeback later this year. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, mentioned that a showdown between Fury and Joshua is still possible despite the challenges faced by his client. Hearn disclosed that Joshua is expected to return in late summer, with a potential fight against Fury likely at the end of the year or early 2027.
