“Coronation Street’s Sue Devaney Reveals Childless Life”

Coronation Street character Debbie Webster recently revealed a surprising secret about having a child, sparking curiosity about actress Sue Devaney’s personal life. Sue first appeared on the ITV show in 1984 as Debbie, the sister of Kevin. Despite leaving the show in 1985, she returned to the cobbles in 2019.

Debbie’s character has garnered a strong following among fans, facing challenges such as being diagnosed with young-onset vascular dementia in the past year. In a recent episode, she was involved in a multi-vehicle crash which led to the demise of Billy Hayhew.

Following the crash, Debbie found herself in legal trouble, as she was falsely accused of causing the accident by her brother Carl, who later revealed that Debbie is his biological mother. In real life, Sue leads a quieter existence with her husband, BBC journalist Jim O’Farrell, whom she married in 2024 after a three-year engagement in a small ceremony in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Unlike her on-screen character, Sue does not have children, expressing in an interview that she feels she missed the opportunity due to her busy career. She values simplicity and focuses on a few key relationships in her life, including her partner, sister, and niece. Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX every weekday at 8:30 pm.
