Netflix has officially confirmed that Mayweather Pacquiao II will be held on September 19 at The Las Vegas Sphere, marking another significant event for the streaming platform after broadcasting Anthony Joshua’s fight with Jake Paul in December. The upcoming rematch is expected to break records, with their previous encounter at the MGM Grand Garden Arena raking in £4.6 million in pay-per-view buys and a gate revenue of $72.2 million.
Mayweather reportedly earned $250 million for their initial bout, while Pacquiao pocketed $150 million. In their last match, Mayweather won by points, maintaining his flawless 50-0 record. The upcoming fight is set to be a professionally sanctioned event, with Mayweather looking to defend his perfect record against Pacquiao’s challenge.
In response to the rematch announcement, Pacquiao expressed his eagerness for the fight, stating that fans deserve this long-awaited rematch, which will be globally streamed on Netflix.
