The group urged emergency legislation to prevent sanctioned individuals from exploiting the UK legal system and emphasized prioritizing the rights of victims over oligarchs’ privileges. Abramovich, who recently sold Chelsea FC, is embroiled in a standoff with the UK government regarding the frozen funds meant for humanitarian causes related to the Ukraine war. Richards called on Badenoch to address the conflict of interest and clarify the party’s stance on transferring assets to benefit Ukraine. The Tories defended Wolfson, stating he is not involved in the Chelsea FC matter and dismissed Labour’s criticism as political maneuvering.
