The US military is believed to have obtained a weapon linked to the mysterious Havana Syndrome through a secretive acquisition. The Department of Defence reportedly conducted tests on a device acquired in a covert operation to address unexplained illnesses affecting American spies, diplomats, and soldiers, commonly known as “Havana Syndrome” or officially as “anomalous health episodes.”
Although the exact cause of the condition remains uncertain, theories have suggested energy-based attacks using a specialized machine, reportedly purchased by the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) division. The costly device, obtained near the end of the Biden administration, is now under the oversight of Pete Hegseth’s department, according to sources cited by CNN.
Government officials are currently debating the existence of Havana Syndrome, while ongoing research is being conducted on the acquired device. The illness received its name after initial cases were reported in 2016, involving US and Canadian officials in Cuba who experienced neurological symptoms, including loud localized sounds, vision disturbances, headaches, memory issues, lack of concentration, and tinnitus.
Initially attributed to a high-frequency vibration weapon, the symptoms were suspected to be linked to foreign entities such as Russia or Cuba. Sources indicate that HSI believes it possesses a similar weapon capable of emitting pulsed radio waves, allegedly of Russian origin and compact enough to be carried in a backpack. Testing is underway to understand its potential effects.
Individuals who believe they were affected by Havana Syndrome see the acquisition of this device as validation of their claims, which have faced skepticism despite numerous investigations. A former CIA officer, Marc Polymeropoulos, who publicly disclosed his experiences with the syndrome, emphasized the need for the government to apologize if the device proves to be responsible for the illnesses.
He expressed that the discovery of such devices would require a public apology from the US government to all affected individuals who have been marginalized.
