“Tennis Superfan Ejected from Aus Open for Disruption”

A fervent tennis fan who gained online fame for supporting Emma Raducanu was ejected from the Australian Open for being too disruptive. James Bray caught attention when Raducanu mentioned him after her win over Mananchaya Sawangkaew.

Wearing an ‘Australia’ tank top, Bray affectionately called Raducanu ‘Raddo’ during her match. Raducanu acknowledged his support, inviting him to all her matches. However, Bray’s enthusiasm led to his removal during a match between Alex de Minaur and Frances Tiafoe at the Rod Laver Arena for being excessively loud.

Bray documented the incident on his Instagram story, revealing his expulsion and a fine. Despite his sarcastic response, he admitted he was barred from the venue for 24 hours. Bray, escorted by police, found humor in the situation, describing it as “fun.”

Even though Bray felt he was cheering respectfully, security deemed his behavior disruptive, leading to his removal. Tennis Australia confirmed Bray had been warned multiple times before his ejection.

Victoria Police reported several evictions from the tennis precinct due to various incidents, emphasizing the importance of maintaining crowd behavior at the Australian Open.
