“Putin’s Deputy Mocks UK for Sending Lone Soldier to Greenland”

Russia’s Dmitry Rogozin, known as Vladimir Putin’s right-hand man, has made fun of Britain for sending only one defense force member to Greenland. The mockery came as Europe dispatched a 30-person unit to the world’s largest island amid concerns that Donald Trump might attempt to seize the NATO territory by force. Rogozin jokingly questioned if the lone British officer sent to Greenland was none other than the famous 007 agent James Bond.

In a sarcastic tone, Rogozin remarked that while facing Vladimir Putin and Russia, Europe felt the need to assemble a large military force with various equipment and resources. However, when it came to Trump and the US, only 30 individuals were sent, a number that Rogozin found to be insufficient and even questioned the gender distribution within the group.

The move was seen as a statement of European belief that Trump is significantly weaker compared to Putin. Rogozin implied that the US leader would back down when faced with the small European force. He also pointed out that Britain, unlike others, made a significant contribution to the defense of Greenland, suggesting a humorous scenario involving James Bond and his companions.

The multinational force consisted of 15 French, 13 Germans, two Norwegians, and a lone representative from the UK. Rogozin, a 62-year-old Russian senator controversially appointed by Putin to represent part of Ukraine, has a history as a former deputy prime minister and head of the Russian Space Agency.

Previously, Rogozin raised concerns that Trump’s interest in Greenland was driven by a desire to deploy intercontinental missiles under the ice, which he warned could trigger catastrophic consequences. He cautioned that such actions could lead to a dangerous escalation of nuclear capabilities between the US, Russia, and China, potentially resulting in global catastrophe.
