“Venezuelan Immigrant Shot by ICE in Minneapolis”

A video has surfaced online allegedly capturing the moment when a man, reportedly a Venezuelan immigrant according to the Department for Homeland Security (DHS), was shot in the leg by an officer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during a traffic stop in Minneapolis. This incident, occurring shortly after the tragic killing of Renee Good, a mother of three, has triggered widespread unrest in the city.

Following the shooting, the injured man was taken to a hospital and can be heard shouting for help in a newly released video online. The footage depicts individuals inside a residence speaking urgently in Spanish, seemingly contacting emergency services. They claimed that the ICE agents had pursued the man for about half an hour before he reached his home and sought refuge inside.

According to reports, the officer allegedly attempted to shoot the man as he ran towards the house, even firing in the direction of the property where children were present.

In the video, a distressed voice can be heard pleading for help, mentioning the presence of children in the house. Another voice later described how the man was pursued for half an hour and shot after seeking safety inside the home.

In response to the incident, DHS released a statement attributing the shooting to the man’s attempt to evade a targeted traffic stop. The department claimed that the individual from Venezuela had entered the US illegally and was allowed into the country by President Joe Biden in 2022. The ICE agent reportedly shot the man out of fear for his safety during what was described as an ambush by three individuals.

Following the shooting, the man and two others involved fled into an apartment complex. Both the victim and the alleged attacker were taken to the hospital, with the victim receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
