Therapy Dog Mabel Found Safe After Theft

A significant development has emerged following the theft of a school therapy dog from a teacher’s residence.

Numerous students were left devastated when their cherished pet, Mabel, was taken. Emma Butler promptly reported the incident to the authorities, leading to a social media campaign to recover the Puli breed canine.

Mabel disappeared from her home last Thursday, prompting a search effort that utilized drones. Fortunately, she was located in a park just three days later.

Emma, an assistant head at Tenyham CofE Primary School in Teynham, near Sittingbourne, Kent, where Mabel, aged four, is a popular figure among the students, expressed joy at the reunion. Mabel, originally from Hungary, was found in Darenth Country Park, Dartford, approximately 30 miles away from her home on Hazel Street Road in Hucking.

Emma expressed gratitude for the community’s support in spreading the word, leading to Mabel’s safe return. She emphasized Mabel’s significant role as a therapy dog at the school, where she has been a beloved presence for two years.

Kent Police confirmed they are investigating the theft of the dog and are in contact with the owner to gather more information.
