A woman in business passed away following liposuction surgery in Turkey that led to her being in a coma. Milena Mancini, aged 50, died at Istanbul’s ISU Medical Park Gaziosmanpaşa hospital after undergoing a weight loss procedure at a private clinic. She had traveled to Turkey from Italy with her daughter, experiencing severe abdominal pain due to a perforated intestine during the surgery, resulting in an infection.
Reports revealed that complications arose during the operation, causing an infection. Her family was unaware of the surgery until she was in intensive care, with some flying to Turkey to be with her. Despite being in a coma for several days, her condition worsened, leading to her passing. A post-mortem examination will be conducted in Italy upon her return.
Milena, residing in Isola del Liri near Rome, managed an estate agency after a career as a financial consultant. She left behind her husband, daughters, father, and sisters. Described as determined and warm, she was well-regarded by many. This tragic incident follows a similar case where a British woman, Ruby Khan, died from complications during liposuction and tummy tuck surgery in Turkey. An inquest is scheduled to investigate the circumstances further.
